Greg W. McGrew, O.D.
The opportunity to move to Leesburg arose in 1987 when Dr. McGrew met Dr. Donald Lubin at a professional meeting. The two found they had similar goals and interests. A professional friendship developed that eventually led to Dr. McGrew taking over Dr. Lubin’s small but growing family optometric practice in Leesburg.
Since coming to Leesburg, Dr. McGrew has helped thousands of patients see their best while building a small office into a bustling, state-of-the-art vision care center. He has served as a clinical researcher for major contact lens manufacturer. He is active in several professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and has served as President of the Virginia Academy of Optometry.
Dr. McGrew has been involved in the community as an adult leader for the Boy Scouts of America, as a youth leader at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and as a member of the Kiwanis Club. He participates in local programs that provide eye care for the financially disadvantaged, the visually handicapped, and HIV/AIDS patients. He has participated in free medical care clinics in Honduras, southwestern Virginia and in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Dr. McGrew lives in Leesburg with his wife. Their two children are both Loudoun County High graduates and James Madison University graduates. He enjoys downhill skiing, running and cycling.
Jenna E. Stoddard, OD FAAO.
Dr. Stoddard was born and raised in Michigan. She graduated with honors from Calvin University: majoring in Biology and minoring in public health. As an undergraduate she cultivated her passion for eye care by working as a technician for a renowned LASIK surgeon and through research on antioxidants for use in dry eye treatment.
She continued her education at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. In addition to graduating with honors, she continued pursuing her research interests and published an article on the use of lasers for presbyopic vision correction called “Optimization of femtosecond lasers using porcine and human donor corneas before in vivo use”. Following optometry school she finished her ocular disease residency at the Baltimore VA Medical Center in Maryland. Residency is an optional year of continued education and experience that only 1 in 4 optometrists achieve. During her residency, not only did she get extensive experience in treating ocular pathology including: dry eye, glaucoma, and conjunctivitis. She learned from top specialists in Baltimore and did externships at John’s Hopkins and the Retina Care Center.
She begun at Eyecare Center of Leesburg July of 2019. During that time, she expanded the practices ability to treat disease by implementing new technology such as the optical coherence tomography which helps our doctors to diagnose and manage conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She also developed the practice’s myopia management protocols including MiSight® 1 day contact lenses and low dose atropine eye drops, to help prevent ocular disease in children from progression of nearsightedness. She works closely with many other eye specialists and surgeons in the area and knows the importance of coordination of care with her patients’ entire healthcare team.
She completed her fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry. Becoming a fellow involves rigorous clinical and educational competencies. It is a designated achieved by less than 10% of optometrists in the United States.
She lives with her husband in Vienna, VA. She is a new mom. She enjoys hiking with her family and is learning to play golf.
She is excepting new patients ages 5 and up, and enjoys seeing the whole family.
