Finding The Right Solution

Optomap

Get the most accurate view for the best eye health solutions.

We pride ourselves on providing our patients with the best possible standard of care; because of this we now perform the Optomap Retinal Exam on all of our patients. This non-invasive procedure allows for a much broader (200°versus 45°) and more detailed view of the retina than is possible with conventional methods. When reviewed, the scan becomes a permanent part of your medical file, which enables our doctors to make important comparisons should potential vision threatening conditions show themselves during a future examination. Dr. McGrew and his associates strongly believe that the Optomap Retinal Exam is an essential part of your comprehensive eye exam and prescribe it for all patients once per year.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) has become essential to clinical eye care in areas and diseases that affect the retina.  This scan can help detect eye conditions like glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.  Often these scans can help in the detection of problems in the eye prior to vision changes for the patient.

Visual Field

Another useful tool that we use in the Eyecare Center of Leesburg is the visual field test.  This test is performed and used to detect areas of vision loss (blind spots) caused by diseases like glaucoma, diabetes, and hypertension.  Brain tumor and head trauma vision loss can also be monitored.  This test measures a patient’s entire scope of vision which includes the central and peripheral vision.
